Although we have been operating in downtown T.O. since January, on Monday we took the opportunity to welcome several of our valued suppliers, and as many of our customers as we could track down, to our ‘Meat & Greet’. It took many days of careful planning, but the opportunity to bring our customers closer to the products they use everyday is worth any amount of effort.
We're not shy about showing off our kitchen. It's awesome. The stove has touch screen controls.... seriously.
2pm: The tables are prepped, filled and set… ready to start meating, er… meeting!

The boys from Fermes St-Canut, getting ready to serve their killer rillettes de porc. Their four different and equally mind-shatteringly delicious pork loin dishes aside, they also presented a sublime preparation of white ham, cooked sous-vide.

As they always do, Lise and Lucie, our cheese purveyors from la belle province put on an astounding display, not only with their cheeses, but also their wealth of knowledge and beguiling Quebecois charm.
Lise from Plaisirs Gourmet showcasing some of the best of Quebec's fromageries
Lucie from Les Dependances always manages to find France’s best kept cheese secrets, and somehow manages to bring them all to our shores… and events.
The secret is that the cheese is delicious.
Stay tuned: Next week part 2 of our Meat & Great Recap gets published….. More purveyors, more glorious food pics and more all-around merriment to come… as well as some learning and “serious” culinary conversations, I suppose.
