“I did not claw my way to the top of the food chain to be a vegetarian.”
Daryl’s dedication to food began in his parents’ backyard and his grandfather’s garden. Somewhere between the vegetable patch and the chicken coop he decided to embark on a career in the food business. After toiling in the corn and soybean fields of Lambton County as a farmer, working in restaurants while in university, he finally made the decision to go to chef school and truly pursue his love of food.
His decade long journey in restaurants and kitchens took him to hotels, wine bars, and restaurants where he strived to bring the best of Canadian fields to Toronto tables, and showcase the amazing food that comes from our land. His time as a chef was followed by a career in the cheese world which turned him into walking (and eating) cheese encyclopedia. As an active member of the La Ferme sales team Daryl is now also learning to become a walking and talking meat encyclopedia too. Watch out Wikipedia!
When Daryl isn’t working as a La Ferme sales guy, he becomes a video gamer, an avid outdoorsman and a DIY-reno enthusiast. He fawns over kitchen knives and his beautiful daughter (and wife too!) Whether he is far afield or close to home, Daryl will always be hunting down the most delicious, fresh and interesting items in any food scene… unless it happens to be something that he is tragically allergic to!
