Gunn's Hill is a local Ontario Cheesemaker who specializes in artisan handmade cheese. Located in the Oxford County of Ontario, a once historic site for cheesemaking, today is still the sight where Shep Ysselstein carries on this tradition in the production of his handmade cheese.
Gunn's Hill was born from the family Friesvale Dairy farm, owned and operated by Three generations of Dutch immigrants. The story goes, Shep Ysselstein extended the family dairy farm by beginning to process the milk from the farm into artisan cheese and the rest is history. Gunn's Hill continues to use the dairy from the family farm down the road to make cheese out of the freshest milk possible. Talk about farm to table!
