Époisses AOP

A soft, pungent and aromatic cheese with a sticky orange rind which has been washed in a local brandy. According to local history, the cheeses was first produced by the Cistercians at the Abbaye de Citeaux and then passed on to local farmers who continued the tradition. The aroma is pronounced, and the flavour oozes with cooked cream and a smoky bacon overtone.
